YA Scavenger Hunt is AWEMAZING!~

What is the YA scavenger hunt?

Well, the answer to that question is right here –> http://yascavengerhunt.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-spring-hunt-is-open.html?m=1

The details of the contest is also there on YASH blog.

The spring hunt started a few days ago. The 4th of April to be exact. I just posted this today because I didn’t have much time to do so.

The day this hunt started, the internet connection in our place was down for one day. Then the next days, I forgot about it, hahaha. Well what chance do I have, right? I’m sure hundreds or thousands are joining the said hunt. But what the heck, I’m joining anyways!! Who knows? I might get lucky! (My chances are slim to none.)

So I stayed up late last night and continued this morning. I was busy submitting my entries!!

And now… Drumroll please! The prizes at stake are: at least 25 SIGNED books from 25 different authors. That’s right! TWENTY FIVE BOOKS! If by some serious stroke of luck, let’s say you won both teams, you’ll have FIFTY YA BOOKS!!!

How COOL is that? Some authors are also throwing in more prizes!

Click this link to view the prizes at stake -> http://yascavengerhunt.blogspot.com/p/prizes.html?m=1

Stop reading this post now, ‘coz you have uhhhhm… less than 12 hours, maybe? This contest ends at noon time Pacific Standard Time (US and Canada, I think.) On April 7.

Since it’s a tri-annual event, we’ll get another shot at winning. Later this year, that is. Hahaha!

Anyways, Happy Spring YA Scavenger Hunt and may the odds be ever in you favor! My favor, preferably. πŸ˜‰ I wanna win too, ya know!!

Challenge ——!

Le me saw my classmate color her drawings using GIMP.

Ta-da!
itachi-A1

I just learned how to color scanned drawings using Gimp!

Just one drawing and I already FEEL like I’m a pro! :))))
Good thing the colors were mainly black. >:D

Special thanks to Jas- she’s so awesome, she poops rainbows – (go visit her blog –> http://jrenjimenez.wordpress.com/), if it weren’t for you I wouldn’t have known that such a thing (using gimp to color drawings etc..) was possible. πŸ˜‰

_______________

March 9th year 2013, 9:00 PM

I died.

I died for the second time in one year.

I was shattered.

Destroyed.

Unraveled.

I think there won’t be enough letters, words, sentences and paragraphs enough to explain what I feel right now. I can’t use the 26 letters we have to form coherent words. Words fail me. Speech has eluded me.

My mind is a maelstrom of thoughts. Emotions. Oh so many emotions.
I feel like Juliette.

I’m torn between Adam and Warner Aaron. But I guess I love Aaron more than Adam.

I don’t know what would happen to Juliette. To Adam. To Warner. To Kenji.

I wouldn’t know for another 365.224 days. 52.117 weeks. 12 months. 1 year.

I’m gonna cut this short. It was a whole new experience, being in the mind of Juliette. The world of Shatter Me is vast. The world is ruined. It will be in chaos. Yet I’m enchanted. I wanted to read more.

I’ve killed myself again. By reading on-going series. But I have to. I want to.

I’ve written all of these right after reading Unravel me. I’ve got to, while the emotion is still fresh. Raw.

Now I wish I would get to dream about this tonight. And the next, and the night after that. I wish I could replay all the books I’ve read in my sleep. That would be great. So great, I’d be sleeping all day.

Note:
My explanation for the seemingly weird title. Again.
See that straight line? The one that is supposed to be the title? That’s what I see in my built-in “heart monitor”. It’s flat. Told you I died, didn’t I?

My book review will be posted shortly. If not later, then it would be by this week. (so much for “shortly”)

Good night, folks. Sweet dreams.

Over and out.

Yeah, baby!

March 2, 2013. One of the best. Days. Ever.

20% off!!

20% off!!

I bought the books on-site and got a 20% discount!

It was the first book signing event that I attended. And the line was soooo long, good thing we went there before 3 o’clock for registration. The good seats were being taken away. Fast. But guess what. We got the best seats! ↓

while waiting in line..

Why is it the best, you ask? Well…

check out who's in front of us!

check out who’s in front of us!

The event started at 4 o’clock. I was talking with my sis when she just ‘swooped’ in and BAM!

Tahereh Mafi. Sitting. In. front. Of. Us.

Aaaaahhhhhhhh!!! She is much more beautiful in person. Her beauty is dazzling. *.*

BONUS! A special guest came with Tahereh. *drumroll*
It’s Ransom Riggs! The author of book: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children– an international best seller. By the time we knew that he would also sign his book, we bought a copy right away!

Here’s a part of the interview:
(Sorry about the video -some parts are shaky-, I got tired holding the phone for minutes. πŸ˜‰ )

Time for the book signing! I was #65, so I was in the fourth batch. All the registered fans (and of course Tahereh and Ransom) got a free cup of brewed coffee courtesy of Illy cafe. The time that I waited for my turn may be long but it was all worth the wait. They are so friendly!! They chatted with each of their fans. My conversation with them would be a secret. Hahaha πŸ˜‰

The lady who took this photo got her finger near the camera -.-

From the left: Ransom Riggs, Tahereh Mafi… and then there’s me.

Ransom’s eyes are so beautiful. It’s green. πŸ˜€

All in all, I have three new books and all of ’em were signed by the authors!

P.S. Ransom will be signing books today at Fully Booked or Power books. πŸ™‚

Oh. The host said that NBS will be holding more events this year. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for news.

The Day has Come

Don’t panic. I’m not talking about doomsday.
This one has less action and suspense.

But a great news, nonetheless. (For me ;))

As you can see, in less than 72,000 seconds or 1,200 minutes-in short, 20 hours-, I would be able to meet Tahereh Mafi. Yes, the author of the books: Shatter Me, Destroy Me, and Unravel Me.

Though I haven’t read, let alone bought her books yet, I knew that this was a trilogy worth reading after getting a sneak peek at the first few pages of Shatter Me.

Quotes of The Day

A crossover between my two all-time favorites.

“I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!” – Katniss Everdeen, The Hunger Games p.22

VOLUNTEER

“We believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another.” The Dauntless Manifesto

I think Katniss is one of the Dauntless. This is what they are.
Or what they should be.

It was for the same reason (somehow) that Four/Tobias chose Dauntless during the Choosing Ceremony. He wanted to be free from his father. He admired the Dauntless.

But he did not know what was in store for him.

That was not what he expected.

The Dauntless has changed.

But now, a new set of initiates has come.

She was unlike any of them. She is different.

He found a reason to stay.

–Sorry! Too much spoiler! I’ll stop here, I might reveal the whole story if this goes on. Hahaha ;)–

Knight in Shining Armor

Hey! This post will be good for 2 days. I will be busy today, tomorrow, and the day after it.

Back to the title. Why ‘Knight in Shining Armor’?
Well… because, I kinda need one right now. We have a whole day of longtests, projects due until Friday, and clearance requirements to finish.

I think I might go berserk any moment now.

I’m writing this blog post as a way to procrastinate unwind.

Another reason for the cheesy title would be:
To advertise Naruto. Hahaha πŸ˜‰

The photo I’ve attached is of Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki from the anime Naruto.

MinaKushi

They are one of my favorite anime couples. Words aren’t enough to explain why I absolutely love them.

So I suggest that you watch it instead. Here’s the link. You may try another website because the ads in crunchyroll is a little irritating. If you have an infinite amount of patience, then be my guest.

Watch episodes 246-249. You’ll like/love it. πŸ™‚

–the picture above is again, edited using gimp–

That feeling…

Have you ever seen a ghost? If not, then congratulations!
Who wants to see one anyway? I’m easily scared as it is. Horror movies, zombies, ghosts, and anything supernatural or paranormal. If you want to do anything related to these, then count me out.

Imagine what would happen if I get to see one in person. I’d probably pee my pants and run while screaming like a mad man.

Maybe. I doubt the first part. In case I do experience something like this, no way will I ever divulge something as humiliating as wetting myself. Ever.

Check out this picture:
GHOST

Cool, huh? This was edited using GIMP. Give it a try, after all it’s 100% free. :))

Got some experience with ghosts? If you’d like, share it using the comment box below. πŸ™‚

Just don’t share it with me if it’s too scary. Please.

Stepping Stone

“A small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”
-Neil Armstrong

“If you don’t like to read, then you haven’t found the right book.”
-J.K. Rowling

At first, I wasn’t obsessed with books. It wasn’t my hobby. I just liked to play and watch TV. But when I watched the movie adaptation of of a certain book.

I got hooked.

It was the best movie I’ve watched. I ‘googled’ it and saw that all the books in that saga were already published. ALL of it. So for Christmas, I asked my parents for it. A few days before Christmas, I saw a gift. I already knew that my wish had been granted. When it was time to open the presents, I saved it for last. I was really happy when I saw it, held by my own hands. I even asked if i could stay up until morning to read even a few chapters. I was ecstatic.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention the title.

It’s The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer.

The Twilight Saga

I read all of it within 4-5 days.

Now I know why I wasn’t interested in reading before; I haven’t found the right book for me.

Reading Twilight was a giant leap for me. I discovered my passion for books. Now I have a collection of some sorts. Which I will share next time when I have time.

~If you can’t find me here then I’m probably off reading books or pulling my hair out while studying.~

Over and out.
